Men's Internet Ministry
« on: February 13, 2007, 06:06:14 PM »

Hey...I've got a great idea.  Why don't we do some men's ministry via the Internet?  Ok, Eric's already ahead of the curve on that one, but lets go ahead and start throwing ideas around about how to get this thing going.  Maybe we can use this thread to discuss development of the website.  Throw some ideas around.  Here are a few of my ideas for where we can go from here.
Let me start out with a few of the technical details.  If you just want to be involved with the idea side of the website, then you can probably skip over this paragraph.  I've talked to you about this before, Eric, but do you plan to have this coded in a text editor, or with an website studio thing?  By the way, this is Ron... Personally, I'm partial to doing it all in a text editor, but its' a little harder to visualize it that way.  There's no drag and drop.  No pretty little layout.  Also Eric, would you like to include any scripting in this for additional functionality?  Keep tabs on Ip's of who all's been here?  I'm almost...fairly...kind of sufficient with the PHP scripting language and would like to practice it in any way possible on this site.
When anybody out there has any good ideas for a page they would like to see on the website, here's some ways to convey those ideas to us.  If you already know how the page should look, then draw up a rough sketch in mspaint or something and post it to a posting as a .gif or a .jpg or something.  Below I'll put an example page, so you can see what I'm talking about.

There is my man Ron, yes sir I am an idea guy. I could really use some help on the design of the site and would be humbled if you would throw me some html or php pages so that we can put them up and see how the look. I can create a /test/ directory if you want so that we can get some testing going.

Like I said I have some skills in html and php, but I am by no means an html artist. I can technically make it happen but have relied on people that the Lord has blessed with that talent in the past.

Lets get started!!
